After losing his PDC World Ranking No.1 Spot, defending Players Champion winner Luke Humphries will be keen to retain his title.
The PDC Players Championships again returns to Minehead Butlins to a sell-out crowd for the conclusion of the Player Championships. The top 64 players by PDC Players Championship Order of Merit compete in a straight knock to find the Player Champion from Friday, November 21, to Sunday, November 23.
All PDC Tour cardholders have competed in 30 separate Players Champions events that form the 2025 Player Championship Order of Merit, with 64 missing out on a final place.
The Player Championship Finals are initially played over two stages, 1 and 2, with stage 1 being the main TV feature. The draw initially pits the top-ranked players against the lowest-ranked, but in this short format, expect some upsets.
Fans will likely be betting hard on this event, as we have seen many new names take the title. However, Michael van Gerwen has dominated the events, winning it seven times to date. But recently, Michael hasn't been in the best form.
Luke Littler, the current World Champion, will be the name on most people's lips, as his recent win at the Grand Slam of Darts propelled him to the World No.1 spot. But will a big field and many others taking titles this year, the event will be a hard one to call.
Players to watch are James Wade and Stephen Bunting, who won a few World Series events earlier this year. Outsider, Gian Van Veen, the PDC Winmau Youth Champion in 2024. Van Veen has recently produced some very high dart averages and holds one of the highest group averages in the Grand Slam's round-robin stages, making him one of the players on the cusp of taking a major title.
Dart fans can use promotional codes from the bideford.com guide to non GamStop bookmakers to enhance their odds and play on many of the World's best gaming websites. This is a great way to fill any time gaps between Players Champions' match play.
The Butlins Minehead Resort has become a fan favourite, featuring two of the main PDC tournaments. The UK Open, played from the end of February to early March 2026, also known as the FA Cup of Darts, features qualifiers outside the PDC Tour Card resume, plus the Players Championship.
Booking and accommodation for these packed weekends of darts can be made via the PDC Website. Most fans book for next year's event a year in advance, so you have to be quick off the mark to get tickets. Fans who miss out can also view the tournaments via TV and streaming broadcasters ITVSport, DAZN and ViaPlay. PDC TV
The PDC Winmau Youth Final will feature Dutch Gain van Veen, the winner of this event in 2024, against Beau Greaves, the young lady who is making big strides in the World of darts. Beau defeated Luke Little to gain her place in this year's Youth World Final. Beau will also make her debut in the PDC World Darts Championships at the Alexandra Palace in December.
PDC youth competitors are allowed to play in this event until age 24, which many consider not to be youth. However, the structure allows new stars to secure high-level matches before leaving to attend PDC Q-School and play in the main PDC Events. Van Veen will start as the favourite, but a lot of support will be heading in Beau's direction. A hard one to call.
The draw for the first round of the PDC World Darts Championship is usually made before the Players' Champions ends. So, the Players Championship may be the last chance for some to make a positive impact.
