It was an off-night for world champion Luke Littler
After a frustrating fifth consecutive defeat to Gerwyn Price at the 3Arena in Dublin, the 18-year-old was reportedly seen throwing his darts case to the floor as he left the stage.
The match itself wasn’t that bad. Sure, the teenage sensation was inconsistent, but those flashes of brilliance were still there. And at such a young age, Littler is still learning his craft and these types of nights will come again in the future. They’re unavoidable sometimes, no matter how good you are.
Not the way I wanted to follow up the win last week but loads more darts to play starting with premier league and uk open next week appreciate everyone who came out to support tonight pic.twitter.com/WXsBqKZYyY

But despite the loss against Price — who “The Nuke” has a terrible record against — Littler is still the odds-on favourite to win this year’s Premier League Darts. With plenty more darts to come, you wouldn’t want to rule him out just yet, either.
With Night 3 wrapped up and Gerwyn Price walking away the winner, the betting odds haven’t changed that much from what they were previously.
All of the major betting sportsbooks on MinimumDepositBettingSites still have Luke Littler as the favourite with 11/8 odds, followed by Luke Humphries (9/4), Michael van Gerwen (5/1) and Gerwyn Price (9/1). What this means is that a £10 on Luke Littler placed right now would return £23.75 — but these odds are likely to change following the outcome of whatever happens in Week 4.
After dusting himself down, Littler will be determined to beat Price moving forward. Bizarrely, Price has turned into something of a bogeyman for the teenager, beating him in Week 3 for the fifth time in a row. And before his quarter-final faceoff against Litler, Price had this to say about it:
“I wouldn’t say that. Once you get a win over certain players, you can just feel comfortable.”
Price can deny being Littler’s bogeyman all he wants, but it’s clear to see that Littler isn’t a fan of playing against him. The two are also certain to meet again over the coming months, so you can expect Littler to go all out in his attempts to end a cursed run of results against the Welshman.
Luke Littler is the hottest name in darts right now. Last month, the 18-year-old officially became the youngest-ever PDC World Darts Champion, so he was inevitably going to be the favourite heading into this year’s Premier League Darts. This was always going to be the case, especially considering the fact Littler is looking to become back-to-back Premier League champion after winning the tournament last year, too. Whether the generational talent will be the winner again come May at the O2 Arena in London remains to be seen, but all signs point to Littler recovering from Week 3 and storming through the play-offs in just a few months time. After all, Littler looked great during Night 2 of this season’s Premier League in Glasgow — where he landed victories over Rob Cross, Michael van Gerwen, and Luke Humphries — so it looks like Week 3 will turn out to be nothing more than a minor blip.
If you’re a darts fan, you might be tempted to put a bet on Luke Littler being the Premier League champion again in 2025. However, if Week 3 has put some doubt at the back of your mind, wait for Week 4 (scheduled for February 27) so you can see if Littler quickly gets back to his best. One thing for sure is that it’s going to be a great run of games up until May, with either Luke Littler or Luke Humphries likely to be lifting the trophy when it all wraps up.
