Nordic Darts Masters

PDC World Series – Nordic Darts Masters

The return of the PDC World series is a true sign that the World is starting to recover from the COVID pandemic. Until recently, fans have not been able to attend live sport such as darts, snooker, basketball, and outdoor sports, football, rugby, tennis and American football, to name just a few.

The World Series is a non-ranking PDC event designed to showcase some of the best PDC players as they play qualifiers from the host country. Bets on the qualifiers can be good as the short format does bring some upsets during the first round, and returning to the stage is the history-making Fallon Sherrock. Fallon became the first lady to win on the World PDC stage in 2020. Betting Ted Everts in the opening first round of the PDC World Championships was followed up with a second-round against Mensur Suljović, who was seeded No.8. Fallon gained worldwide fame overnight, will congratulation sent from sports stars such as Billie Jean King, who famously won the battle of the sexes tennis tournament match in 1973 against Bobby Riggs.

However, the man on form is Gerwyn Price, the current PDC World Champion. The betting stats suggest there's no one better to bet on at the moment. However, I am sure many will flock to place a small wager on Fallon as she has turned a healthy profit for many willing to take the gamble.

The Nordic Darts Masters is a free to air TV event that is likely to have millions across the World turning in over the two days

First Round Draw

While the World Series events don't contribute to the players' merit ranking, it is a chance for darts to be showcased as a high-end sport across the nations it visits. The best players, the ones that progress the most, also receive an invitation to the World Series Finals 29-31 October at the AFAS Live Arena, Amsterdam. Seeds are shown in (brackets).

Event Favourites

Gerwyn Price

Gerwyn Price is the player on form and will be a hard player to beat. The short format may favour his opponents, so should you wish to bet against Gerwyn, the early rounds may be the best to have a small wager. However, if you do bet against him, don't expect to come out a winner, especially in the first round

Peter Wright

Peter' Snakebite' Wright can be hard to beat if he brings the right darts to the tournament. Peter changes his dart barrels, stems and flights more often than any other player; it is good that he has a good dart sponsor to support him! This can be a little frustrating as you never know how Peter will play! Always good, but sometimes he can be unplayable!

Dimitri van den Bergh

Dimitri van den Bergh is undoubtedly one of the best new players on the oche and is seeded accordingly. The Dancing Dutchman can cut the moves on the stage and beat the best when it matters. He could be the young man at the end of the tournament picking up the trophy. Will your money be on him?

Michael van Gerwen

Michael van Gerwen has won most of the PDC events in his young career. However, his top form has not materialised recently. The Nordic Masters might be the springboard he needs to reassert himself once more. He is a player when on form is hard to bet against, so expect some high-quality throwing when he takes to the stage.

Fallon Sherrock

Fallon Sherrock isn't seeded as she currently is part of the PDC circuit. However, I expect a lot of bets will be placed upon her to win her first-round match, and it may not be a bad bet. There will be a lot of interest in the young lady as her career in the sport moves forward.

TV Coverage

The tournament will be shown live on Viaplay, worldwide through the PDC's broadcast partners, including ITV4, DAZN and RTL7, through PDCTV for the Rest of the World
