The Professional Darts Corporation, or PDC, was formed in 1992, as a professional darts organisation with a group of top players that split from the British Darts Organisation (BDO). There are several famous championships in PDC that are really popular for fans of the sport and betting fans.  Some of those tournaments include the World Matchplay, the PDC World Championship, UK Open, Premier League, and World Grand Prix.

The PDC also has its own list of ranking that is based on the players’ performances and their success. This article will feature the top 5 list of the current best darts players in the PDC. First off, we are going to start with number 5.

 

Michael Smith

Michael Smith started his career playing darts in 2006. Even though he is relatively young, only 28 years of age, he has accomplished a lot in his career. Michael became the PDC Under-21 champion in 2013. In the following years after that championship, he won six titles on the PDC Pro Tour. In 201, he won the PDC Young Player of the Year award, and in 2019, he became one of the top 5 PDC darts players.

 

Gary Anderson

Gary Anderson

Gary Anderson is a 48-year-old Scottish professional darts player that has been professionally active since 1996. Before joining the PDC in 2009, he played in BDO for nine years and won numerous awards. He has been a part of PDC since 2009. Some of his biggest accomplishments are winning the World Darts Championship in 2015 and 2016, winning the World Matchplay in 2018, and winning the Champions League in Darts in 2018. At the moment, he is ranked 4th on world ranking by PDC.

 

Daryl Gurney

After he joined the PDC in 2013, Daryl Gurney has been a fierce competitor. He has reached the semi-final in UK Open and the European Championship in 2017, won the Players Championship in 2018 and reached the semi-final in the Premier League in 2019. Daryl is a right-handed player, who broke into the top 4 of the PDC Order of Merit, and in 2019, he reached his career-high ranking at the third spot.

 

Michael van Gerwen

Rob Cross has been shining in the PDC since he joined them in 2017. He won the 2018 World Championship and the 2019 World Matchplay. Rob was also a runner-up in the Premier League and UK Open in 2019, as well as the European Championship in 2017. His total earnings so far are little less than £1 million.

 

Michael van Gerwen

The undisputed champion in this section with more than £1.8 million in earnings is coming from Boxtel, Netherlands. He has been a member of the PDC since 2007. Michael van Gerwen has won the World Championship three times, with his most recent one in 2019. Apart from the World Championship, Michael has won the World Matchplay 2 times, he’s a 5-time Premier League winner, 4-time European Championship winner, and much more.
